In 1951, Poul M. Volther created the dining table C28, a single clean-line table that also has distinctive, slightly curved lines. In addition to providing softer, organic lines, the idea of the “cigar shape” was that there should be plenty of room at the same time as people around the table did not sit too far apart. The result is a harmonious framework for family meals for everyday life and for the highlights of the year. The additional plates that follow the cigar shape from the table ends may extend the capacity of the table. Basically, the table has six to eight dining areas but can be expanded to 12 people. The table is available in beech, birch or oak – Nordic woods that give the table character.
